For those that missed it:

Watch the video on this very timely book called "This School Year was Different!"

My dear "Woodland Creatures" class,

Some on you will be finished school today and some of you will be finished this upcoming Wednesday. This makes me very sad! It is hard to believe school is coming to an end. I feel a lot like the teacher in this book. This year has certainly been different but I have felt God's blessings throughout it all. He has been SO good to us! We were able to go straight to online learning after March Break and didn't miss a beat in our learning. Due to your hard work, and persevering through a different way of learning, ALL of you are passing into your next grade with ease. You are ready! That makes me excited for next year.

I am incredibly proud of all of you. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing your faces on Facetime and hearing your voices on the phone. One of my highlights this year was the amazing birthday celebration I had with the parade of cars coming down my street. We felt like "family" again. I wish I could have scooped each of you up and given you the biggest hug you ever had. Prepare yourself: it will happen when social distancing is over! Here are some things I would like to say to each of you:

Boan: It was so exciting when your family came back from Africa in the fall. You are such a joy to be around and to have in class. I love your sweet and adventurous personality!

Eli: I know it was hard to switch from homeschooling, but you jumped into school and made friends immediately. I love your energy and you make me smile...every day!

Simon: We were so happy when your family came back from your cross Canada tour. You have such a sweet and kind personality which was a wonderful addition to our class!

Izzy: You work incredibly hard at all of your school work and remind me of myself when I was your age. Your love for learning is contagious!

Lola: You have such a wonderful care-free attitude that reminds me of someone walking on a bed of roses and missing all of the thorns. I love how sweet and gentle you are!

Ivy: What a curious and avid learner you are! Your desire to know and understand everything is simply wonderful and swells a teacher's heart.

Hannah: You are a diligent worker who does your absolute best at everything you put your hand to. Meticulousness is something we could all learn from you...even Aunt Tammy!

Gabe: We were so happy that you came to our school and became part of our "family." You are an absolute sweetheart and I love your energetic personality!

Sammy: If anyone needed assistance this year, you were there to help. You are a giver! You want to please God and do what is right and those are wonderful traits to have.

Braden: You are a rule follower. Your sense of justice is incredible and so inspiring. I want to be like you when I grow up!

Lukumay: When I look at you I see "pastor" or missionary" written all over you. You have a love for the Lord that is quite extraordinary for your age. Keep spreading the Word!

Isabella: You want to please everyone and are an excellent example of what a servant is. I love your giving heart and sweet spirit!

Anna: You are like a lightning bolt! I love your care-free attitude which is paired with enjoying life to its fullest. I can barely read about your close calls though! (Think apple tree)

Nora: You are a beautiful ray of sunshine that spreads through our classroom. Your sweet and giving spirit is a testament of what God is doing in your life.

Cody: I love that you are a hard worker! You always do your best and don't take short cuts. You are also a loving cousin and helped Nora and Eli assimilate into school.

Malachi: You have a servant's heart! You always worked hard on your work so that you could help others...even if that meant no play time for you.

Serenity: When I think of you, I think of "joy." You have a joy-filled, loving personality that always has a lasting impact on everyone you are around.

MANY BLESSINGS AND MUCH LOVE!

Mrs. McEwen
