January CoVID-19 Lockdown Update

January 20, 2020

Dear Parents,

It is with a happy heart that I announce that we will be back to school, in-person, this Monday. Students from grades 1-3 will now have to wear a mask. We are also being asked to wear masks outdoors when we are unable to socially distance.

THANK YOU parents and siblings who have helped to make this second round of online learning such a success. I know it has been difficult and draining at times. You persevered and we are incredibly proud of you and your children for all of your hard work. I would also like to extend a hearty thanks to all our teachers who worked tirelessly to provide such an exemplary online program.

Psalm 68:35 says, “Oh, God, you are awesome from your sanctuary!” We are thanking Him today for this great news. We look forward to seeing all of you on Monday, January 25.

Blessings,

Mrs. McEwen

Dear Parents,

As we begin our lockdown today I thought I would write to clarify some information.

We are set to resume in-person school on Monday, January 25. As we are often in flux these days, I will inform you if that date changes.

The government has now mandated that students in grades 1-3 wear masks. In addition, teachers and students will have to wear masks outside, unless we are socially distanced. However, we have been given permission to excuse children from mask wearing if need be. Children will also be given many mask breaks throughout the day when they are eating.

I know we are all doing our part to beat this Coronavirus. Please keep up the hard work! It does take our united effort to keep our community safe. Please be reminded this is such a short time in view of eternity. In Philippians 3:14 we are encouraged to, “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to educate online. Your children are doing amazingly well and we are so proud of them, and you.

Blessings as we press on together,

Mrs. McEwen

Dear Parents,

You may have heard the news today that students will not be returning to in-class instruction this Monday. The government announced that students will return to school January 25. With the highest ever COVID numbers today, and the most deaths, Ontario’s medial team wants to ensure the safety of all students and their families. We will keep you informed on this fluid situation. However, please know that your teachers are fully committed to your child’s education. Teachers have been working exceedingly hard to implement their online program. Our goal is to keep your child up to speed with our curriculum and to provide the resources for them to excel. If you find that your child is floundering, please let your teacher know. We are almost through this and God is, and always will be, on His throne.

Blessings,

Mrs. McEwen
